KHEMMIS, Doomed Heavy Metal, LP

The live tracks are a nice addition, but the new studio recordings are worth the price of admission by themselves. The Dio cover is a flawless transposition of a classic to a new style, “Empty Throne” is more of the Khemmis we know and love, and “A Conversation With Death” bears special mention. Khemmis took a standard folk tune and worked their magic to turn it into a doom masterpiece that fits so well I was almost surprised to learn it wasn’t an original. Can’t wait to see what comes next.
